- A seasonal round-up (usually toward the beginning of the month)
- Posts where I share what I have been up to with my early elementary children (including occasional highlight posts where I share how we used ideas that have been linked up here on Littles Learning Link Up).
Each week, I will host a link up, where you can share either what you have been up to recently, or old posts that may go with the theme. Feel free to link up more than one post.
Each week I will continue to feature a couple of posts from those that have been linked up.
I hope you will continue to share your wonderful posts, and I hope you will find something new to try with your child(ren).
It would be great for everyone to stop by and visit the other linked-up posts as well. Check them out, leave some comments, pin those that interest you. Let's make this a real party and socialize with each other.
What have we been up to?
Speaking of reviews, let's take a look at that review schedule real quick:
Last week I shared my review for the Captain Sun comic book, Rescue Me! What Superheroes Can Teach Us About the Power of Faith. This week I will be sharing my review for the math website called I Know It.
In October I will be sharing my reviews for the newest release from Heirloom Audio Productions, St. Bartholomew's Eve, the newest season of The Brinkman Adventures, and the book I mentioned above called Forensic Faith For Kids.

What have we been up to?
We have been continuing in our lessons, staying on target more or less. I'm trying to make sure we don't fall behind in such subjects as science, music, and art as we have in the past.
We have continued our readings from our main book, Augustus Caesar's World, plus reading from The Roman Empire. We have been learning about such things as how a Roman city was organized and what life was like in Ancient Rome. We also watched a video called Roman City. Additionally, we just started the novel, The Bronze Bow.
For science we've been learning about the human body using the books First Encyclopedia of the Human Body from Usborne, and The Human Body for Every Kid by Janice VanCleave. So far the first book has been read to give us some introductory information, and then we go into detail, including definitions and activities with the other book.
Our main topic, after learning about cells, has been the brain. We learned the parts of the brain and then have been looking into details about each one. We learned about how our body functions without our directing it, with the medulla, and how the cerebellum helps us balance. They learned how difficult it is to try to lift their left leg when their right foot and arm were pressed up against the wall, because their bodies want to lean right to compensate, but they can't.
Cheater! LOL!!
In art we have been learning about perspective, using the book, God and the History of Art. We were supposed to use this book last year, but had only gotten a few lessons in, and just never had time for art.
Here is a look at some of our art work from this past week.
We are also reading a book called Forensic Faith for Kids by J. Warner Wallace and Susie Wallace. In this book we will be learning how to share the truth from the Bible, which is our duty as Christians. We have chosen to also watch the helpful videos and use the PDF pages from the Case Makers Academy's website.
