- A seasonal round-up (usually toward the beginning of the month)
- Posts where I share what I have been up to with my early elementary children (including occasional highlight posts where I share how we used ideas that have been linked up here on Littles Learning Link Up).
Each week, I will host a link up, where you can share either what you have been up to recently, or old posts that may go with the theme. Feel free to link up more than one post.
Each week I will continue to feature a couple of posts from those that have been linked up.
I hope you will continue to share your wonderful posts, and I hope you will find something new to try with your child(ren).
It would be great for everyone to stop by and visit the other linked-up posts as well. Check them out, leave some comments, pin those that interest you. Let's make this a real party and socialize with each other.
What have we been up to?
Last week we looked at our new tradition, "Happy NOT First Day of School." This week, I get to share our first day of school for the 2018-2019 school year. Yes, we have a summer session, which does count toward our days for this school year, but I still think of this as the start of our school year.
We did our traditional "Top of the Stairs" photo.
While they were away, I finished decorating, and getting their school supplies ready. Which means having the Homeschool Elf hide them.
Let's take a look at that review schedule real quick:
A few weeks ago I shared my review for the Paddington Lit Study from Branch Out World. This week you will find my review for GrammarPlanet and Reading Eggs/MathSeeds. Later in September I will share my review of PictaDicta from Roman Roads Media, two Kingdom Files books from Barbour Publishing, the Captain Sun book, and the math website called I Know It. And we will soon be receiving the newest release from Heirloom Audio Productions, and a book called Forensic Faith For Kids which sounds like it will be interesting to read and work through.

Then the children came downstairs to finish getting ready so daddy could take them out for breakfast at McDonalds.

A look at our newly organized homeschool room, a.k.a our dining room, with some recent changes/additions.
The children arrived home and were all ready to come inside, but I wasn't quite ready, so I had them play outside for a bit (that was different).
Then they came inside to discover the Homeschool Elf had once again hidden their supplies.
Here they are pretending to be angry.
On the hunt.
Checking out the new, and totally unexpected backpacks. They were told they will use them for co-op.
Of course, they had to pretend to use them to go to "Homeschool."
With daddy as the "bus" driver.
Arriving at homeschool (again)
Showing off the backpacks
Lining up (again)
Playing with balloons. Because the first day of school is a celebration, and an easy day of school.

Individual pictures. These are their normal, nice pictures. I will be sharing the crazier ones for Wordless Wednesday.
They also like to decorate their balloons. These are all Amelia's balloon family.
Then they had their normal "routine" time where they do math drill, computer time, exercise, and mommy time. They also worked on their "About Me" pages.

Then, after dinner, we started our Rome to the Reformation time. Reading about school in Ancient Rome. While I read, the children colored their pictures.
It was a lovely first day back to school routine.
