Free Sign Ups for the Back to School Blast Giveaway Hop

Back To School Blast

So school is out for the summer, though as homeschoolers we will still be finding fun educational activities to do. At least that is the plan. And I also need to organize and clean to get ready for our next school year. Tabitha will be a kindergartner, and I am so excited (though a tad nervous). So, we are planning for the next year already and we are not the only ones. I found this great giveaway hop to be involved with. It will run from August 1 to August 14. It is the:

Back to School Blast Giveaway Hop!!

I know not everyone who reads my blog is a homeschooler. That is okay. There will be homeschoolers starting back up (if they stopped for the summer) and there will be children starting preschool or kindergarten, children in elementary school or high school. I'm sure most of you great readers have children in one of the above situations. Or maybe even college students (heck, maybe you are a college student). The idea of this hop is to host a giveaway that focuses on items that will help with the start of the school year.

Do you want to be involved?
{Sign-Ups close on July 27th}

If you don't want to sign up with a giveaway, don't forget to stop back in August for some great Back to School giveaways to enter.

This is a free event. If you would like to participate, all you have to do is create a blog post (like I did) with the event button and a link back to the original post.
{If you don't want to write a post you can send a $5 PayPal payment to thisflourishinglife@gmail.com. Mark it as a "service" please.}

Prize Info:
Each blogger will run a giveaway on their blog with a prize or prize pack worth at least $25. You are welcome to have more than one winner as long as each person wins $25+ worth of prizes. You can self-sponsor or find a sponsor. Anyone with a prize or prize pack over $100 will have it marked on the linky as a $100+ prize.
You can also choose to take part in the Grand Prize for a fee.

Wordless Wednesday: June 6, 2012 (w/linky)-Hannah the Builder

Hannah spent many many minutes yesterday absorbed with these Lego Duplo blocks. In fact, after dinner she sat in one spot for over an hour just building and rebuilding. Sorry for the dark pictures, my camera finally fell one too many times...it died :(  So I get to share photos from my phone.

She even brought them with her to eat her snack.

Muffin Tin Monday: Remedies for a Cold Dreary Day

Muffin Tin Monday at Muffintinmom.com

Today daddy came up with a great idea for a muffin tin (It makes me so happy that he supports me in this sort of thing).  As it has been chilly, damp and dreary for the last few days, daddy thought it would be a good idea  to have a muffin tin with things we would have on a cold day. In other words, things to make us warm.

I started out by making individual Apple Crisps in their muffin tins. While those baked I got the rest of the ingredients ready. The idea was to have everything nice and warm to serve to them. Didn't quite work out perfectly, but they enjoyed it.

Here is the completed muffin tin.

Besides the Apple Crisp I gave them:
Tomato Soup
Oatmeal with some brown sugar
Raisins for the oatmeal
Hot Chocolate
Marshmallows for the hot chocolate
Mitten shaped grilled cheese sandwich to dunk in the tomato soup.

They seemed to enjoy this. Surprisingly, Hannah didn't eat the apple crisp. She didn't like the oatmeal either. Amelia asked for a second sandwich. I guess it was really yummy without the crust.

Sunday Photo Round-up: June 3, 2012

As I have just started a new photo challenge, and more times than not I am linking up to more than scavenger Hunt Sunday, I have decided to give these posts a new name. I will still be doing my Scavenger Hunt (I have been the most faithful in this challenge over the months), but this month I am adding in a "Photo a Day" challenge that I found over at Fat Mum Slim. And I am also linking up with a few other photo linkies.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday items: Shine, Fast, Left, Peace and Plain

Shine

Took a walk this evening to see if we could find anything that shined. We found a few. It was not quite dark out yet, but it was that time of day when people needed to have their headlights on and we could see the shine from up the road.

Then, when we were almost home Tabitha said something about getting  a picture of the sun shine. Little did she know I already had, but this one came out much better.

In this shot, the lights are shining and reflecting on the ceiling of the overhang and the sun is shining off the pumps.
(Sorry, I couldn't pick just one.)

 Fast
I knew when I went out for our walk that I wanted a shot of a motorcycle or two. I was getting a little disappointed that I hadn't seen any. Then this little motor bike came down the road as we were heading home.

 Left
I had the girls walk to the left of the tree, then turn left, so I could take a picture of their left sides.

 Peace
These days I don't get much peace unless baby Harold is asleep. And doesn't he look so peaceful.

 Plain
The children wanted spaghetti and meatballs, which I hadn't made in a long time. I knew I wanted salad with it. Here is my plain salad before I added my dressing.  Doesn't it look so green and full of life.

June Photo a Day

Day1: Morning

After I feed the baby in the morning if daddy is home he will spend some time with him. And usually the girls will join us too.

Day 2: Empty

Our empty cups, waiting for the popcorn for our Movie and Popcorn night.

And linking up my favorite photo

(Finally got another picture of the three Harolds. Grandpa was down for Memorial day so I grabbed this shot while daddy was getting the grill fired up.)

Welcome to the thirty-fifth weekend of Lovin' the Weekend Blog Hops.
Come and see what is new!

Giveaway Linky is the bottom linky!

First things first:
Don't forget to check out my co-host's blog
Adventures of the Mommy Homemaker

In case you didn't know, I have also started randomly choosing a Featured host each week from the Lovin' The Readers linky. This week I would like to introduce you to Jenn from One House Schoolroom

Here is what she has to say:
" One House Schoolroom blog strives to offer our readers a wide variety of great homeschooling tips and info, great product reviews and giveaways, and networking opportunities.  We have been blogging at the One House Schoolroom for nearly 6 years and in that time we have shared many great stories from our homeschooling journey, given away amazing products, and made some lifelong friends.  Just this week we have launched the 2012 Great Homeschool Quest, an internet scavenger hunt with amazing sponsors and fun prizes.  This is a free event- open to everyone- so come join the fun!! "

Please make sure to stop by and say hi, let them know you are visiting from the Lovin' The Weekend Blog Hops. Don't forget to link up to the Lovin' the Readers Hop if you would like a chance to be a Featured host next week. Please comment with a way to contact you, especially if there is not an obvious way mentioned on your blog. I would love to include a little write up about you and your blog in the next week's Lovin' The Weekend Blog Hop post, including a link to your blog. And you will get to include the linky codes on your blog. Sound fun? I'm looking forward to getting to know my readers better.

Here's how this blog hop works. I would appreciate it if you would follow me, my co-host and the featured host via GFC. If you no longer have GFC please follow me some other way. After that there are three different linkys you can link to. Whichever one you choose to link to, please grab that button and share it on your blog (the codes are on my sidebar). I'd love it if you could tweet or in some other way share about this blog hop, the more people who know about it, the more potential visitors and new followers of your blog. I'd love to meet some new friends this weekend.
I have noticed that some people are more interested in just increasing their numbers, while others really want people who appreciate their blog and want to keep up with their posts. So, I decided to create two separate linkys. The third linky is for you to link up your giveaways.

If you are interested in increasing the number of followers to your blog via GFC, Linky Followers, email, Twitter, Facebook or Google+ link up here. I will follow you back if you follow me (just note which one you are linking to):
