Scavenger Hunt Sunday: April 3, 2011

Time once again to share my interpretations of  Ashley's photography hunt items.
This week's items are:
High key, Bedroom, Something Tiny, Off in the Distance and Stripes

I was completely unsure what High key was.  I figured it may have something to do with photography, but wasn't sure.  When I asked family members what they thought high key was they suggested an actual key up high.  Not sure why it took me so long to look it up, but now that I have an idea, I am still not sure how to do it with my camera.  So I am passing on the first item and heading straight for the rest of the items.  If anyone has any advice on how I can accomplish high key with my rinky dink Canon Power shot 4.0 mega pixels camera I would love to hear from you.

This is my poor daughter's bare side of the room.

She shares her room with her teenage sister.  Enough said.

Something Tiny

Love mini chocolate chips, just the right size for chocolate chip pancakes which hubby loves.

But I had to share the tiny little bear I was given. Isn't he cute and tiny (especially compared to the biggest bear in the house which belongs to Tabitha)?

In The Distance
I was looking for a nice picture of something in the distance.
Hubby suggested finding a sign of a destination that was miles in the distance.
I decided to combine the two ideas, showing the road curving off in the distance.

My girls have a nice supply of striped shirts, don't you think?

  1. That tiny teddy bear is TINY! So cute. Good composition on the stripes shot. I had to google "high key" for this prompt. I had no idea what it was. I'm a musician so I thought it meant something about music. LOL! With your cam, you can probably try shooting during daylight at the brightest time of the day outside. I don't know if you are using any photo editing software but if you don't have one on your computer, you can go to to edit your photos. It's free, no sign ups. Just upload your picture to it and play around with their photo effects there to achieve "high key." I used until last November when I purchased PSE9.

  2. I noticed your daughter has posters up on her bedroom wall. Kinda reminds me of my bedroom wall when I was a kid. It put a smile on my face. Oh, the good ol' days... =]

  3. Love that curving road in the distance!

  4. I love striped shirts! Lovely photos!

  5. LOL, at least your teenager only has posters on the wall; I remember that I had a big poster on the ceiling (!) when I was a teen. =)

Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my blog! You just made my day. :)

  6. Aw. The something tiny is adorable. My kids have stuffed animals of all sizes, but mostly they love the really large and the really small! Great job.

  7. Love the distance shot :D Curvey roads make such great pics!

  8. Nice shots. The bear is so tiny!! I would have lost it by now. And now I'm sitting here wondering how I can fit chocolate into my bfast today :) Like the off in the distance, too. Have a great day!

  9. Fun choices for this week! LOVE your distance shot.

  10. I love the something tiny..... now I need some chocolate!

  11. Nicely done - I really like your off in the distance shot!

  12. Coudersport and Shinglehouse! We used to spend Every Summer at a campground just outside of Shinglehouse! I have lots of friends living in that area! Haven't been in years though. WAY too many years!

  13. Hey there! Nice shots. I like the off in the distance pic, great interpretation!

  14. I skipped high key too. LOL. It seemed hard. I loved all of your photos. The in the distance was a great take. What a cute tiny little bear you have. Have a blessed day. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
