Muffin Tin Monday: Creation Days 5 and 6

Muffin Tin Monday at Muffintinmom.com

We continued learning about the Days of Creation last week. On Monday I shared our Day 4 tin with the sun, moon and stars. Then we learned about Day 5 where God created the animals in the sky and seas. We concluded our week with the Day 6 muffin tin and had a fun tin full of land animals.

Day 5

A bird (see description below)
Chicken in a Biscuit Crackers
Octo-Dog
Jello with a shark fin banana
Jello with a fish
Goldfish Crackers

Here is a closer look at the bird.
I started out planning to make a chick, but it wasn't going to work. You can have it be whatever kind of bird you want. It was made with a hard boiled egg, grape, carrot sliver beak, frosting eyes, and potato chip wings (held on with hummus)

The fish is swimming away from the shark...

I originally came up with the shark in the water idea last year around St. Patrick's Day when I was making colors of the rainbow muffin tins.  That time the Jello was in a pie plate and there were a bunch of goldfish cracker fish and banana shark fins.

Day 6:

Here is what they had:
Monkey Nut-ritious Peanut Butter Sandwich playing in the bananas

Elephant peanut butter and apple butter sandwich
Dinosaur Chicken nuggets

Pig shaped ham wallowing in a Nutella mud hole

Cow shaped cheese standing in the pasture of sprouts

Hippo Shaped Watermelon in the Jello lake

I was going to make the pig in a pretzel stick pen but thought
1- it wouldn't look right and
2- the pig wouldn't have had a pen on the day of creation.
BUT... the girls knew I had the pretzel sticks and asked for them.

Please take note of the milk mustache as she made sure to tell me she had one.
Hehehe.

Muffin Tin Monday: Creation Days 2 and 3

Muffin Tin Monday at Muffintinmom.com

Last week I shared our first day of school Muffin Tin. We are learning about Creation, so the first day's tin was about God creating light. We continued on during the week and learned about Days 2 and 3. I made a muffin tin each day.

Day 2: God created the firmament or sky:
Blue tinted vanilla yogurt representing the water above.
Marshmallow clouds
Cheese cloud, Peanut butter and fluff cloud, popcorn clouds
Aquafina flavored water and blue tinted mashed potatoes representing more water. (It was supposed to be Jello but I forgot to make it soon enough for it to set)

We had some fun making the popcorn.

Tabitha added the clouds to the sky.

Day 3: God created dry land and plants and trees.

Everything in this tin represents land or plants.
Baked beans
Sunflower seeds
Strawberries
Carrots and some broccoli trees
Salad
Dirt Pudding (the girls had fun making this as a part of Kids and a Mom in the Kitchen).
Oh, and some ranch dressing in the middle.

Hannah thought the cup meant drink I guess.

And they had to add some whipped topping.

Stay tuned for some more Creation related tins this coming week.

Muffin Tin Monday: Creation Day 1

Muffin Tin Monday at Muffintinmom.com

We started back up with school this week. Tabitha is now in kindergarten and I have Amelia tagging along in what I am calling K-4. We are using My Father's World and the introductory unit is on Creation. So today we learned about the first day of creation, God made light.

On the light side we have:
chocolate pb & fluff sandwich on white bread
white corn
potato

On the dark side we have:
buttered pumpernickel bread
raisins
chocolate milk

I didn't get a shot of Tabitha as she had just bumped her knee that she had fallen on yesterday and it was bleeding again, so she was crying and hysterical because I couldn't find a bandaid.

Unfortunately they didn't care for the pumpernickel bread. Oh well, all the more for me.

Muffin Tin Monday: "Take Me to the Water" VBS

Muffin Tin Monday at Muffintinmom.com

This week is VBS at our church and the theme is: Take Me to the Water: God's Love Flows.
Yesterday they learned about Moses hitting the rock in the wilderness and God provided water for the Israelites. I was not sure what else is coming up this week, but I wracked my brains for some Bible stories I know involve life giving water to make this week's muffin tin.

They had banana nut muffin rocks with Jello Jiggler water flowing into the bottom muffin cup.
Then they had a cucumber boat filled with 3 grape people representing Jesus and his disciples on a boat in the middle of the lake during the storm. Jesus calms the storm.
Next is a salmon salad sandwich shaped like a fish.
I put some watermelon and cheese boats in the water. I cut them out with my new Luv It! FunBites Cutter. The pool of Jello water also represents the pool where Naham gets healed in the cleansing water.
More fishies.
A plastic cup with "Life Water" (No really, it's SoBe Life Water) and a Mini Reese's Peanut Butter cup bucket for the well.
The little cheese and watermelon hearts are from the FunBites cutter.

Here's a closer look at our stream of water.

And the cucumber boat with grape people.

And the well.

Tabitha thought it would be fun to have the fish swim in the water. Guess I should have seen that coming.
