Littles Learning Link Up: May 4, 2017

I am so sorry Littles Learning Link Up is late this week. We were without power due to severe storms coming through the area on Monday.

 Each month you will find:
  • A seasonal round-up (toward the beginning of the month)
  • Posts where I share what I have been up to with my preschoolers and/or early elementary children (including occasional highlight posts where I share how we used ideas that have been linked up here on Littles Learning Link Up).
Each week, I will host a link up, where you can share either what you have been up to recently, or old posts that may go with the theme.  Feel free to link up more than one post.

Each week I will continue to feature a couple of posts from those that have been linked up.

I hope you will continue to share your wonderful posts, and I hope you will find something new to try with your child(ren).

It would be great for everyone to stop by and visit the other linked-up posts as well. Check them out, leave some comments, pin those that interest you. Let's make this a real party and socialize with each other.

What have we been up to?

We finished up our stay in India with a "Dinner and a Movie" night. We watched Jungle Book 2 while eating dinner. The girls fashioned themselves saris out of bed sheets. We tried to ignore the fact that we were eating hamburgers. It actually wasn't in my plans to have the children dress in saris. We were just going to have dinner and watch our movie. The end of visit meal was supposed to be the next day. However, the girls were excited about the chance to try out making a sari, so I didn't want to discourage them. It worked out well, because we ended up going to the drive in on Saturday, and wouldn't have been able to have our meal anyway.

Okay, so not the best saris in the world, but the children had fun.

We didn't really have the opportunity to make any crafts to go with India. However, we did do the ArtAchieve lesson they had for Sri Lanka. We made a Sri Lankan Landscape with an Elephant. I'll be sharing more about that in my review of ArtAchieve which will be posting later tonight or tomorrow.

The children did create their own works of art using material from nature the other day. They "painted" with dandelions, other flowers, dirt, and grass,

This week is our first week visiting Japan. The children have been having a blast creating origami art. We were even able to work on that without electricity the other night, they just worked by lantern light.

I shared a more detailed look at five of the countries we have been to in the 5-Day Blog Hop with the Homeschool Review Crew which posted a couple of weeks ago.  I shared about our trips to Mexico, Canada, Norway, France, and Germany. The Crew shared lots of different topics related to homeschooling. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, I would highly recommend it.

Let's take a look at that review schedule:

Last week I posted my review for Daily Bible Jigsaw app from Planet 316 and Drive Thru History: The Gospels. As I already mentioned, I will be sharing about ArtAchieve: Entire Level II later today. I am a bit late posting this review because of our lack of electricity problem.
Later this month you can look forward to the reviews for: Only Passionate Curiosity's online course called Homeschool Rescue, and Thin Stix from The Pencil Grip, Inc. I recently received the Christian Heroes book about David Livingstone from YWAM Publishing. We learned a little about him in our studies of Africa, so I thought it would be an appropriate book for Tabitha and I to read. That review will be posting at the very beginning of June. Also in June I will be posting the reviews for: Memoria Press Latina Christiana, which I am using with Tabitha, K5 Learning, WhistleFritz, Marsh Media, and Hewitt Homeschooling.

Some thing I would like to share with you:

It's hard to believe, but Mother's Day is just over a week away! My first Littles Learning Link Up Round Up was the Springy Flowers and Mother's Day Round Up. There are some great ideas for crafts and cards for mom.

And here are some of my past Round Ups with lots of fun crafts and activities that are appropriate for springtime.

(featuring Complementary Color Flower Craft)

Next week's round up will be all about colors. Books about colors and/or color mixing to be exact. If you have any posts that include either a compilation of favorite "color" books or crafts that relate to a specific "color" book, I would love to include it in my round up post. Just leave me a comment or contact me via my contact info on my About Me page.

Now onto:
