Princess Palace Treasure Box Review

As a part of Amelia's 5th Birthday Celebration I was given the opportunity to review the Sticky Mosaics Princess Palace Treasure Box from The Orb Factory.

Amelia was so excited to receive her Treasure Box. In fact, once she knew what was in the box she kept asking if she could open it. So, of course I had to let her.

The Princess Palace Treasure Box comes with the three treasure boxes, three top castle wraps, over 575 jewels and the information guide (which has the key to which jewels go where and a short story about Princess Rosepetal and her castle.

Of course Tabitha wanted to help.

The first thing I did was to attach the top castle wraps. In hind sight I probably would not recommend adding the top wraps until the end. We did not finish putting the castle together in one sitting, so I put them back into the box, stacking them one on top of the other. Unfortunately this bent them a bit.

The girls started off by working on the same box, but they eventually decided it would be easier to work on boxes individually.

They did not need any help beyond a quick mention by me of which jewel went with which number. I wanted to make sure they didn't confuse the pearl white with the more silver jewel, or the plain foam green with the shiny green squares.

The boxes are clearly marked, so it is very easy to decorate.

Even Hannah wanted to try. The jewels really are a little too small for her yet. She would put the jewel down and I would end up re-positioning it. That's okay, she is two years younger than the recommended age of 5+.  She was just pleased she could help.

Tabitha had a blast decorating the one princess. There are 4 princesses that actually need their flowing gowns decorated.

Personally, I also like the unicorn, which Amelia decorated.

And the swan that Tabitha decorated has my favorite pearl-like jewels.

Confession time. Even mommy helped put on the jewels. I decorated most of the top tier of the castle. I let the girls have the animals and princesses. I thought it was a lot of fun and would have loved to have something like this as a child.

The girls are having a blast creating this jeweled work of art. When they are all done Amelia will have 3 little  boxes to put her treasures in. And along the way, they are learning to follow a key and are improving their fine motor skills.

I do have to say, the jewels have not been sticking on as well as they did on the Cupcake Clutch that Tabitha got for her birthday. And I have had the top wraps pop off several times. I am thinking it might be because of the glossy finish to the boxes. Another thing that was frustrating for the girls was that the jewels would come off of the plastic without the glue dots, so they had to work at getting the glue dots off and then put them back on the jewel. This didn't happen all the time, but enough to frustrate them for a bit. Also, the square jewels occasionally came apart with the backing attached, making it a bit tedious to separate. This could have been my fault, because I bent the squares on the perforations so that they wouldn't stick together when they came off.

All in all, the girls have really enjoyed making these treasure boxes. I think the frustrations bothered me more than them. We would definitely recommend this product for other little girls who love princesses, jewels and treasures. Because of the tiny pieces, I would say age 5 is definitely a good age recommendation.

You can head over to The Orb Factory to see all the different products they carry. Besides the Sticky Mosaics, they have Magnetic Mosaics, Curiosity Kits, Plush Crafts, Sparkle Ups, Imaginista, and Stick 'n Style.
