Welcome back to Toddler Idea Tuesdays! I hope you will join with me again in sharing the fun activities, crafts, and lessons that you are doing with your young children.
Two weeks ago I said I was going to share some of the fun things we did this past summer in last week's post. Unfortunately, last week's post never got posted because we have been having major computer and internet issues. So, I am just going to bypass summer altogether and share what Hannah and Harold were up to last week during our first week of school.
I am using Horizons preschool with the two youngest kiddos. I didn't use a set curriculum with either Tabitha or Amelia as we just worked on my letter of the week lessons. This year, I just felt like I needed a bit of guidance while teaching the younger two at the same time as trying to teach the older two. I was very thankful to get the chance to review the preschool curriculum from Horizons.
Last week we focused on Genesis 1:1 as our Bible verse, the letter A, the number 1, the colors red, blue, and green, and the triangle.

Last week we focused on Genesis 1:1 as our Bible verse, the letter A, the number 1, the colors red, blue, and green, and the triangle.
We talked about how God, our heavenly Father gave us the earth just like our daddy gives us good things.
Hannah practiced tracing the letter A. I also pulled out the Fundanoodle I Can Build Upper Case Letters! for her to practice forming the letter.
She worked on making triangles, tracing and coloring them, and cutting them out.
We learned what the numeral 1 looks like and what the quantity looks like.
We read the Bible story of the woman who loses 1 silver coin and hunts for it. Then they completed a project.
We also practiced writing our letter A's on the chalkboard. I will write the letters, have them use a wet paper towel to wipe it off using the correct strokes, and then rewrite the letter in the damp spot that shows where the letter should go.
Hannah practiced writing some more.
She also joined us to label a Bible Lands map. This was an activity from My Father's World 1st grade.
We also worked on making Litter Bug Bags together.
I found these fun manipulatives at a yard sale this summer. They also come with activity ideas and mats to work on. For now, I am just allowing them to play with them on the mats.
Now onto:
