Wow! It's Tuesday again already. The days are flying by. My baby is 8 months old now and babbling quite a lot. At one point she was saying, "mamamama." Unfortunately that phase seems to have passed and we are hearing more, "baba, rara"
Amelia's speech is getting clearer. Though when she is going on and on, I still have no idea what she is saying half the time. Tabitha is actually a pretty good translator at times.
The other day I was playing around with Amelia when we were sitting down for dinner. I started to put Hannah's bib on her and she said, "I'm not a baby yet. I'm a big girl.
Out of the blue the other day Tabitha came over to me and said, "Mom, I really want one of my toothers to fall out." We explained to her that it would be a while, she had to get a little older before she would lose teeth and get her adult teeth.
I was getting lunch ready and clearing off the counter one day and Amelia was sitting at the counter saying, "Mom, take this off so I can take a bath." I wasn't really paying to much attention. It finally got through to me what she was saying. She had something sticky on her finger and she wanted me to take the lid off of the Brita filter so she could "take a bath" aka rinse her hands. I firmly told her no and explained that we don't wash our hands in the drinking water.
One day for dinner we were made up some tartar sauce to go with our fish. As we were eating, Tabitha said, "I'm eating the new mayonnaise we made."
I was listening in on the girls playing in the living room. Tabitha said she wanted to play the "football game." I was not quite sure what she meant, so curious mommy kept watching and listening. Tabitha said to Amelia, "You be the football." So Amelia scrunched into a ball and Tabitha rolled her."
I invite you to check out this week's Word's of Wisdom Wednesday post to see what Tabitha's answer was to this question:
What do we do to celebrate Christmas?
The linky will be open until tomorrow night.
