Homeschool Hop #9

Yes, it is Homeschool Blog Hop time.  Kylie over at Our Worldwide Classroom hosts this blog hop.  It has been great exploring others' blogs who are homeschooling their children.  This week's theme is

These are a few of my favorite things

I have to say this before I share.  I am now so ready to go and watch The Sound of Music, and to complete the  mood, it is storming (just a little).  I think Fellowship of the Ring will be placed on the back burner and I will be watching The Sound of Music tonight. As for MY favorite things.

My family is at the top of my list.

Being pregnant and knowing that God has blessed me and allowed me to have a part in the miracle of life is just so awesome to me.  And while there have been times in these 18 years of being a mother that were quite stressful, I couldn't imagine not being a mother, being able to see each of my children grow, learn, explore (wait a minute, those three verbs sound familiar, is it okay if I use them Debbie?), to see their smiles and be there for their tears.

Another one of my favorite things would have to be READING.  As far as I remember, I have always enjoyed reading.  I recall, while growing up, walking to school with my nose stuck in a book.  And my favorite genre would have to be fantasy, though in recent years I have added Christian fiction to the list.  I also enjoy reading non fiction books, mainly ones that will help me in my homeschooling adventure.  In fact, if you haven't seen, I have joined several reading challenges (I never knew these existed before this past weekend).  To check out what I will be reading and to perhaps join me on this journey, check out my new blog: Me, Myself, I Read.

Taking photos

Scrapbooking

Cake decorating (which I haven't been able to do for years, but I would love to be able to start again)

Doing crafts with my girls (just check out the rest of this blog for plenty of pictures of that)

Exploring nature with the girls, over at the park, around town (just keep the bees away!) In fact, yesterday we chased robins, blew dandelion puff balls, watched ants and ant hills, and threw rocks in the river)

And at this point in my life, another favorite thing, which is quite essential but I don't always get, an afternoon nap.
