- A seasonal round-up (usually toward the beginning of the month)
- Posts where I share what I have been up to with my elementary-age children and the preschoolers I work with at our homeschool co-op (including occasional highlight posts where I share how we used ideas that have been linked up here on Littles Learning Link Up).
Each week, I will host a link up, where you can share either what you have been up to recently, or old posts that may go with the theme. Feel free to link up more than one post.
Each week I will continue to feature a couple of posts from those that have been linked up.
I hope you will continue to share your wonderful posts, and I hope you will find something new to try with your child(ren).
It would be great for everyone to stop by and visit the other linked-up posts as well. Check them out, leave some comments, pin those that interest you. Let's make this a real party and socialize with each other.
We are going to be using Time Line pieces from Home School in the Woods to make matching cards to review what we have learned this year.
And for Language Arts, all of the children are going to be working through literature study guides from Memoria Press. The set I received is actually for third grade, so originally I was just going to work with Hannah on Mr. Popper's Penguins. However, I decided the other children could each use one of the guides as the books are appropriate for them too. Harold and I will be reading A Bear Called Paddington. Amelia will be working on Charlotte's Web. And Tabitha will be working on Farmer Boy.
Harold and I also had some fun in the kitchen yesterday. He wanted some mommy time that wasn't just school work, so we made a cake. It was just a boxed cake, but as is normal with my kids, he wanted to experiment. We added coffee instead of water and threw in a bit of cocoa powder. I have to say, it turned out very good.
Let's take a look at that review schedule real quick:
Last week I shared my review for Matific Galaxy which Harold absolutely loves! Don't miss your chance to win 1 of 3 single-grade, one-year access accounts. Just check out my giveaway post:
Later this month I will share reviews for the Music & Creativity Foundation Course from Simply Music plus the USA Activity Bundle Pack from Crafty Classroom.
And in August you will find reviews for Memoria Press, Home School in the Woods and Library & Educational Services.

Here's a peek at what we have been up to in our homeschool.
We started back to school for our summer session this week. Some children are happy because they said they were bored without school time, others aren't quite as happy.
We are continuing our study from My Father's World Rome to the Reformation. We have made it to the Renaissance and will be focusing on different events and people from this time period for the next several weeks. I'm not sure if we will get all the week's finished, but I am not too concerned about the last couple of weeks as it focuses on some explorers, which is what we start our year off with in Exploration to 1850.
For science we will be learning a bit of astronomy, which goes well with this year's Summer Reading Program space theme.
And of course, we are still working on review products.
We are all learning to play some simple songs on the piano with Simply Music.
Harold and Hannah are working on some USA state sheets from The Crafty Classroom. Even Tabitha and Amelia are using the fun state map mazes that we received with the bundle.
