What have we been up to?
We have been having a relaxing summer. Hannah went to camp last week for a few days. The camp has what they call "Mini Camp" where a new camper can go for just 2 nights if they aren't ready to be away for the whole week. She had a marvelous time. Tabitha and Amelia are away at Friendship Camp this week. While they had a little rain to deal with yesterday, the remainder of the week looks to be hot and sunny (good for camp, not so good for everything else around here as we have had no decent rain).
I am gearing up to start our "Summer School" next week, which will last 3-4 weeks, depending upon what we get accomplished. We are still behind in our My Father's World Adventures, so I am planning to zing through at least the history portion to get us ready to start the next level in September: ECC or Exploring Countries and Cultures. We will also be doing MFW Kindergarten's B:Butterfly unit, even though that unit is not scheduled until later. The reason for this is because we are going to get to review a cute book/DVD set called The Story of Chester which is about monarch butterflies. This review is for The Old Schoolhouse Magazine website. I have done several reviews that have been slated to post there. Speaking of reviews, let's take a look at the other reviews I have coming up, because there are some products that have been keeping us at least a little bit busy this summer.

I posted the review for Laurelwood Books a week and a half ago. Last week the reviews for ArtAchieve and ABeCeDarian went live. This week I will be posting the review for Heirloom Audio Production's newest release Beric the Briton.
We have been keeping our math skills sharp with CTC Math, that review will post the first week of August. Other reviews that will be posting in August are: Talking Fingers: Talking Shapes, Foreign Languages for Kids By Kids, Enlivenze LCC: FlipStir Puzzle, Jolly Literacy's Phonics and Grammar, and Jolly Literacy's Can Do Cubes, and Homeschool Scholastics: WAY Comes Home Kit. The Apologia Astronomy review will post in September. Some of these products we are just receiving and will be fully starting in on next week as a part of our summer school.
Yes, we are keeping busy this summer, even though we are not having what we call "school days" where we have Bible time, and Story Time and Calendar time. That will start again next week.
