I found this list over at Family Friendly Frugality and thought it would be fun to use when we went out to look at the Christmas lights. The girls had fun helping find all the different decorations.
A House with Just White Christmas Lights (well, 3 houses)
A Penguin
(In case you can't see it, there are two penguins riding on the polar bear.)
Disney Character (Mickey Mouse)
More than 3 Inflatables in One Yard
(This house was amazing. Lots of inflatables, plus I found quite a few of the other decorations here.)
Snoopy
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
A Decorated Mailbox
(Technically, a mailbox that is a decoration, but it is the best I could come up with)
A Nativity Scene
(One by a house)
(And a couple in front of two different churches)
An Angel
The Word NOEL
Candy Canes
5+ Reindeer in One Yard
(The most I could find was 4 in one yard)
(Two on one side)
(And two on the other)
A House with Blinking Colored Lights
(These lights blink in synchronization to the music played over the radio station the owners have you tune to.)
A Snowman
(I actually took this one because I love the lights shining through the snow on the top of the bushes. Conveniently there was a snowman in the same yard.)
A Camel
We didn't see the Grinch anywhere, but I was surprised I couldn't find the Christmas Train. For years there has been a little train car decoration at this one house that has Rudolph popping in and out. Not sure if I could find it during the day or if they aren't putting it up, or maybe they don't live there anymore, but I couldn't find it or any other.
What a cool idea for a scavenger hunt. I am TOTALLY stealing it.

ReplyDeleteWow, this is such a great idea and your photos are beautiful. My son and I went on a bus tour last night to see the Christmas lights around the town we live in. I've got to say, they were nothing compared to these though. They just look so much more Christmassy and exciting set against the snow. Thanks so much for sharing this. I love anything to do with treasure hunts!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lights. Have a Merry Christmas.
