Littles Learning Link Up: December 26, 2017

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

 Each month you will find:
  • A seasonal round-up (usually toward the beginning of the month)
  • Posts where I share what I have been up to with my early elementary children (including occasional highlight posts where I share how we used ideas that have been linked up here on Littles Learning Link Up).
Each week, I will host a link up, where you can share either what you have been up to recently, or old posts that may go with the theme.  Feel free to link up more than one post.

Each week I will continue to feature a couple of posts from those that have been linked up.

I hope you will continue to share your wonderful posts, and I hope you will find something new to try with your child(ren).

It would be great for everyone to stop by and visit the other linked-up posts as well. Check them out, leave some comments, pin those that interest you. Let's make this a real party and socialize with each other.

What have we been up to?

We didn't do as much last week as I would have liked. However, we did use our "mommy's busy" routine to ensure some schooling was done. They got math, spelling, and exercise in, as well as getting caught up with some of their work. They also had a good time learning more about God from Melk. This week we are taking off school completely, relaxing, cleaning & organizing, recharging for our next 6 weeks of school.

Here's a look at all the fun things we did with Melk this last week of the Advent season.

First, we took him with us to our church's Christmas program, A Night in Bethlehem where he learned some things about life in Bible times (along with us, of course).

He his candy canes to remind us we need to seek God.

We made CD sheep to remind us God is our Good Shepherd and he watches over His sheep.

We built a gingerbread house and were reminded to build our lives on a firm foundation.

We planned a camp out under the tree, enjoying the lights which remind us that Jesus is the light of the world.

He gave the children gifts, reminding us that God is a giver of good gifts and He gives to us whether we deserve it or not.

He read the book, The Candymaker's Gift in preparation of making candy cane cookies. Sadly we never got to them as we were behind in getting things done as I had been sick the day before and Tabitha was sick this day.

He was personally invited to our church's Christmas Eve Candlelight service by the leader of our Venture Club who remembered that Melk is nocturnal and loves doing all things Christmas related, especially when they glorify God.

Christmas morning he sat in the stable to remind us that we still needed to add the figures. We read the Christmas story from Luke and Matthew while the children added them.

I'll be sharing pictures of our Christmas celebration in this week's Wordless Wednesday post.

Let's take a look at that review schedule real quick:

I recently received Bonjour! Let's Learn French. That will be a review that will post on The Old Schoolhouse Magazine's website. Other than that, we have no current reviews.

Here are some things I would like to share with you:

Christmas has passed, and we are looking toward a new year yet again. If you are looking for some ideas for what to do with your children this New Year's Eve, I invite you to check out my Child-Friendly New Year's Eve Celebration Round Up

And seeing as winter started last week, I thought you might like some ideas revolving around snow. We've been getting some around these parts. We even had a white Christmas. How about you?
