- A seasonal round-up (toward the beginning of the month)
- Posts where I share what I have been up to with my preschoolers and/or early elementary children (including occasional highlight posts where I share how we used ideas that have been linked up here on Littles Learning Link Up).
Each week, I will host a link up, where you can share either what you have been up to recently, or old posts that may go with the theme. Feel free to link up more than one post.
Each week I will continue to feature a couple of posts from those that have been linked up.
I hope you will continue to share your wonderful posts, and I hope you will find something new to try with your child(ren).
It would be great for everyone to stop by and visit the other linked-up posts as well. Check them out, leave some comments, pin those that interest you. Let's make this a real party and socialize with each other.
What have we been up to?
As I mentioned last week, we got back into the swing of things and finished our "visit" to China. We finished up all our books, learning about life in China, the Great Wall, and even Fa Mulan. The children had fun playing with tangrams as well. Okay, fine, I did as well.
Let's take a look at that review schedule:
I posted my review for the Christian Heroes: Then & Now book, David Livingstone: Africa's Trailblazer from YWAM Publishing last week. This week I will be posting the reviews for: Memoria Press Latina Christiana, which I am using with Tabitha, K5 Learning, and Marsh Media. Throughout the remainder of the month you will find the reviews for: WhistleFritz, Hewitt Homeschooling, and the Adventures of Rush Revere Book Series. And in July I will post my review of Rigid Wrap and CelluClay Quik-Sculpting Kit from ACTÍVA Products. I'm looking forward to discovering what we can create with this product. Stay tuned!
Some thing I would like to share with you:
Father's Day is right around the corner! If you are looking for ideas for gifts or cards, I would love for you to check out my Father's Day Gift and Card Round Up.

We finished up our stay by making Chinese lanterns to go with our dragon pictures we made from ArtAchieve. We decorated with those and had homemade fried rice with our steak for dinner. Sadly, not near as good as fried rice from a Chinese restaurant, but the family seemed to like it. Except for Mr. I-don't-like-rice Harold.
Here are the children making their lanterns:
Tabitha made some more dragons on a banner with the word "Welcome" in Chinese. At least she says it is Chinese. She has been using a book to find phrases to write.
My attempt at fried rice. It was tasty, but not near as good as the stuff I was used to from a restaurant.
And here are the books we read these past few weeks to help us learn about China.
We are now learning about Russia. This will be the last country we learn about for the school year. Then we will learn about our last country, Australia, during our summer session. I can't believe we are at the end of another school year. I also can't believe we are actually going to be able to start next year on schedule. That is such a good feeling.
Summer is also almost here. Whether you will be going to the beach or are looking to pretend to go to the beach, here is a fun round up of Beach-related activities. The Beach Fun Round Up.
Or maybe camping is more your "thing." Or maybe you have plans to go to the beach and to go camping this summer. Here is my Camping Fun Round Up.
Now onto:

How fun! My son is really interested in China, so I'll have to save some of these ideas to use with him!
ReplyDeleteI love Tabitha's dragon sign! I always love it when you cover a country we've "visited," too! I hope your June has started off in a super-swell way!
