The linky is at the bottom.

This week I wanted to share an update that I never got around to posting about. Back in January, I shared our Trail Mix Candy Bars. This was a recipe we threw together when we were learning about states of matter. In the post, I mentioned that I had always wanted to melt down a specific trail mix that we enjoy which can be found at Wal-Mart. At the time, I didn't have any, so I created my own trail mix to melt down and turn into bars. Since then, we did have the opportunity to purchase the Indulgent Trail Mix, and as I hoped, it was just as easy to melt it down, pour it into a pan lined with foil and sprayed with cooking spray, and turn into yummy bars to eat.

All you need is a bag of the Great Value Indulgent Trail Mix from Wal-Mart which contains white chocolate drops, chocolate drops, peanut butter drops, almonds, peanuts, cashews, golden raisins & cranberries.

Disclaimer: This post is in no way sponsored by Wal-Mart. This is a simple snack I've wanted to try for a while. When it turned out so delicious, I knew I had to share.

Pour the trail mix into a microwave safe bowl. Melt the chips on medium power at 30 second intervals, stirring after each time. It takes about 3 minutes in our microwave.

Pour into a square pan lined with foil which has been sprayed with cooking spray. You can use an 8x8 inch pan or 9x9 inch pan depending on how thick you want the bars.

Set the pan in the refrigerator and let it harden back up.

Cut into pieces and enjoy.

Do you have your children help you in the kitchen?  What lessons do they learn? Do you have any kid friendly recipes to share?

I'd love to see your posts, whether you have done something this week or some time in the past. Just link up below. This is a weekly linky.
