Toddler Ideas Tuesday: January 20, 2015- Simple Homemade Valentines for Toddlers

Welcome back to Toddler Idea Tuesdays! I hope you will join with me again in sharing the fun activities, crafts, and lessons that you are doing with your young children.

As unbelievable as this might sound, Valentine's Day is only 3 1/2 weeks away! Less than a month! For the next few weeks, I decided I will be sharing some of the fun things we have done for Valentine's Day in the past. This week I would like to share a couple of cute handmade valentines that are simple enough for even toddlers to make.

We made these Heart-Shaped Valentine Pouches for daddy several years ago.

I cut two hearts out of the construction paper for each girl (they chose their color). Then I punched holes around the sides. The girls colored their hearts and then laced them together.

After they were attached, they finished decorating them with glitter. We then put some candy in each pouch for daddy.

A year earlier, we had made these simple Tissue Paper Valentines:

I just cut construction paper into hearts, folded them in half, opened them back up and had them glue on crumpled up tissue paper. When they were dry I wrote:

"My heart isn't whole..." on the front half

and

"Without you daddy! on the inside.

  1. Thanks for the feature and I hadn't thought about making Valentine's this year since my kids are just 2 years old and 2 months old, but great idea to make them for Daddy. We'll be doing that now:)
