I have recently realized the importance of allowing my girls to help me into he kitchen and the importance of training them up in this way. Growing up, we were always "shooed" from the kitchen while mom cooked and baked. The result: I hated when I "had" to help mom bake cookies, etc. as a teenager, because I saw it as a chore and my poor husband married a very novice cook. As I have grown in the Lord and wish to raise my girls to please Him, I see the importance of not only teaching them these skills so that they may bless their future families, but also doing it with a cheerful heart so they will hopefully see spending time in the kitchen as a blessing and not a chore.
ReplyDeleteI've always invited the kids in the kitchen and now I have three grown boys and one teen girl that ALL love to cook!! Now, we are trying to interest my 2 year old granddaughter in helping. Keep up the good work there. I had to laugh because Harold sure seemed to be enjoying himself....except for that one sad little picture. ;) Thanks for sharing the recipe!
