- A seasonal round-up (usually toward the beginning of the month)
- Posts where I share what I have been up to with my early elementary children and the preschoolers I work with at our homeschool co-op (including occasional highlight posts where I share how we used ideas that have been linked up here on Littles Learning Link Up).
Each week, I will host a link up, where you can share either what you have been up to recently, or old posts that may go with the theme. Feel free to link up more than one post.
Each week I will continue to feature a couple of posts from those that have been linked up.
I hope you will continue to share your wonderful posts, and I hope you will find something new to try with your child(ren).
It would be great for everyone to stop by and visit the other linked-up posts as well. Check them out, leave some comments, pin those that interest you. Let's make this a real party and socialize with each other.
Co-op is over for the year. We had our end of year program this past weekend. My class recited a poem and sang three of the songs we've been singing throughout the year. The K-3 class and 4-7 class put on a play called Treasure Island, which was technically nothing like the original Treasure Island. We had Dora the Explorer, her mom, the Map, Long John Silver, another captain, his crew which was comprised of Snow White and Mr. Shirt (who happened to be wearing a red shirt with a Star Trek insignia), plus the pirate crew (the K-3 class). Then the high school class put on a skit of Pilgrim's Progress. I'll be sharing some pictures in this week's Wordless Wednesday.
I have shared several caterpillar/butterfly posts these past several weeks. We made Pattern Caterpillar Crafts, Symmetrical Butterfly Crafts, Paper Plate Butterfly Life Cycle and Butterfly Lapbooks. Today I would like to share the books we read for each of the lessons plus some we did not get to, but I wish we had had time to.
What is a caterpillar lesson without reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle?
Let's take a look at that review schedule real quick:
Last week I shared my review of the first two books in the Hamelin Stoop series from 12 Gates Publishing. The first book by Robert B. Sloan is titled, The Eagle, The Cave, and the Footbridge. The second book is titled The Lost Princess and the Jewel of Periluna.
This week you will find reviews for Pathway to Liberty and Elementary Math Games from The Critical Thinking Co..
Later in the month I will share my reviews of the book God is Better Than Trucks from Christian Focus, another picture book titled Nothing from Worthy Kids, a couple of online subscriptions from EdAlive, plus Supercharged Science.
In June I will share reviews for Simply Classical Writing from Memoria Press and Lightning Lit Grade 2 from Hewitt Homeschooling Resources.
Phew, yes we are still busy with quite a few review products.

The following books were great for our Pattern Caterpillar crafts:
First we read Ten Little Caterpillars by Bill Martin Jr. This book was great for showing different patterns. I love that there are illustrations showing the different caterpillars and the butterflies they become.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
And this book was great for our symmetrical butterflies.
Waiting For Wings by Lois Ehlert
And here are some great books for the butterfly life cycle. I honestly am not sure which books actually got read to the children as some of them were supposed to be read during the Teen Teach Day. I just know, out of the many I had out from the library, these are the ones I would recommend for preschool.
