I am not sure how this happened, but my little girl is getting so big. I can't believe she is eleven years old already.

Another tradition is that the birthday child can't come downstairs til we are ready for her/him.
This however is not a normal, traditional thing that is done.
Traditional birthday breakfast. Pancakes in the shape of the age plus foods cut into that many pieces.
Each year's birthday has a different tradition. For the 11th birthday tradition, the birthday child gets to help make and decorate the cake.
