Well, I have been introduced to another great company that specializes in swaddle blankets. Like the Swaddle Design blankets that I already reviewed, these muslin swaddle blankets by Aden + Anais are large in size, perfect for swaddling. Here is a little bit about how this company came about directly from their site,
"As a young woman growing up in Australia, our founder Raegan Moya-Jones was introduced to many traditional practices of motherhood. One of them in particular-- swaddling babies in generously sized, gentle muslin sheets-- amazed her. Even the fussiest babies seemed to sleep more peacefully in muslin. Despite the hot days and the cold nights, muslin swaddles helped keep babies comfortable. And, most importantly, the very act of swaddling seemed to build a bond between mothers and their babies.
When she moved to the U.S. and started her own family, Raegan couldn’t find any swaddles like the ones she remembered from home. The only swaddles available were too small. Or made of much-too-thick flannel. Or, simply, unattractive.
And so, aden + anais was born. And within months of hitting the market, aden + anais swaddles starting popping up in magazines, on blogs for new mothers, in virtually every celebrity gift registry, and in stores around the country.
Today, aden + anais, has brought the legacy of muslin together with fashion forward design to create a line of products that are as stylish as they are useful; and as simple as they are beautiful. We believe in muslin-- the way it looks, the way it feels, the way it works-- to improve the lives of babies and their mothers no matter who they are or where they live.
The proof is in every product we make. "
You may ask, as I did, why muslin though? Here is an answer, again from their site,
"The lightweight muslin also permits air to circulate around the baby's body, while still providing comfort and warmth without the worry that the baby may overheat in moderate weather. Cotton muslin is also a workhorse fabric, in that wraps woven from this natural fiber stands up to repeated washings only becoming softer -- and better -- with age. "
Sounds great, doesn't it?
They have a wide variety of swaddle blanket in such cute collections of designs. You can purchase single blankets, 2 pack, 3 pack or 4 pack sets depending on what collection you prefer. There is the classic collection, the cozy collection, the organic collection or the bamboo collection.

Their products have expanded beyond swaddle blankets though. They also carry sleeping bags, bibs and burp cloths, towels and washcloths, dream blankets, and security blankets (issies). All of which are made with muslin except the terry hooded towels.

Don't forget to stop back during the Baby Shower Celebration for an opportunity to enter a giveaway for your own Aden + Anais product.
Back in my day, (lol my kids range from 11-25) we just used receiving blankets to swaddle with. I like these choices much better. I love that there is an organic one. I'll have to keep these in mind for my grandbabies. lol
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Aden + Anais!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these blankets. I had put them on my baby registry when I was pregnant with E and even though we no longer swaddle her, we still use them!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had them 13yrs ago for my son. Now I tons of friends having babies and lots of baby showers to get gifts for.
ReplyDeleteI love that these are light weight, as my son will be born in July. I also love that they are sized large enough to actually be able to swaddle a baby, because traditional receiving blankets just are not big enough.
ReplyDeleteI so want the these! :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard awesome things about these blankets. They would be perfect to swaddle during the summer.

ReplyDeleteMy first grandchild will arrive in October. This company is new to me. I'm not familiar with muslin products, but intend to check them out!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love these blankets! I have a few of the swaddles and next would love to try the dream blanket!
ReplyDeleteWe got a single pack Aden & Anais swaddle for our baby before she was born, and I wish I had splurged for a 4 pack. They are totally worth it. I use ours all the time and hate when it is in the wash!

I absolutely love the material they use... not too hot, but baby isn't freezing either. The important thing is a swaddled infant is a happy infant. I swaddled my two and it was a big help, as when they were fussy it would calm them right down.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to find large blankets that are light weight! Where were these when my kids were little? I love fabrics that get softer with age ... they're perfect for handing down or saving for grandchildren!
ReplyDeleteI didnt know that they offered an organic version!!
ReplyDeleteI live in Texas where it is HOT, so it is nice that they are so lightweight :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm with Charlotte. We also live in a warm climate, and did before with my other two. I could use these swaddling blankets at any time of the year and not worry about the baby overheating. They are also great for covering the car seat while baby in sleeping!
ReplyDeleteWith the danger of overheating it's great to see a blanket that can be used for any season. Plus they would dry in no time =saving time and money on laundry.
ReplyDeleteI love Aden + Anais. I use these for nursing covers daily. So much cooler than any alternative I have. Love all their cute patterns and prints!
ReplyDeleteI wish I would have known about these with my first two little ones! There are so many to choose from, I am looking forward to trying one with baby on the way! =)
ReplyDeleteThe patterns and designs on these blankets are fantastic, not to mention the texture. I would love a set!

I have seen a few babies in Louisiana with these swaddles. I really like how you can cover a little one, but not overheat him or her. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI think the muslin would be so great for a summer baby! This would keep the sun off them without overheating them and the patterns are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the size and light weight of these blankets - it makes them timeless as you can use them forever after the swaddling stage!

ReplyDeleteThese blankets are great, thank you for having this giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try them. I've always wanted to try muslin. It seems to make more sense to use this lightweight fabric, especially since it's (finally!) getting warmer and flannel blankets are just too hot.

ReplyDeleteI really like the swaddles.. I always used receiving blankets when my kids were babies so i recommend the swaddles 100 percent. Thanks

Swaddle blankets are the only thing that kept us sane when our son was a baby, but being a BIG boy they were often too small and he wriggled out of them. These seem GREAT- so big and wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous blankets. They look so comfortable!
ReplyDeleteI have a set of 4 of these blankets and love them!!! They get used a few times daily! I would love more of them as these will eventually wear out!
ReplyDeleteI love the story of how the company came to be. I had my first son while overseas and I had so many ways to take care of my baby that the drs in the US said no no too. I love the overly large size of the blankets to make a nice fit around the baby. I would love to have these to use with my little ones.
