Giveaway Is Now Closed
I was thrilled when I was contacted by Liz from My Memories Suite in regard to reviewing their digital scrapbooking software. I have always loved taking photos, in fact my mother always thought I took too many. With the creation of digital cameras I have been able to take photos to my heart's content. However, I haven't really been able to enjoy my scrapbooking.
When I was younger I filled photo albums. Then I discovered scrapbooking. Being able to create lovely works of art with my memories was awesome. But so time consuming, with all the cutting, arranging and gluing. Obviously with 3 young children it has been put on hold. Not only that, I couldn't afford to print all my pictures I was taking with my digital camera. Then, of course, I found I could share my photos on my blog. And I do share a lot of them. But I never thought I would enjoy digital scrapbooking. It seemed like cheating to me. I tend to be old fashioned and not like change. Enter...My Memories Suite Version 2.
All I can say is, I am amazed. Amazed by the creative juices that flowed. Amazed by their great selection of papers. Amazed by their album template and layout choices. Amazed by... just so much. This digital scrapbooking software is so easy and FUN to use.
While they have great templates, I found myself drawn to the blank page at first. It was the same way with "regular" scrapbooking. I would avoid the kits and create my own pages. I also tend to avoid too many embellishments, I like the pictures and a few words to tell the story. I was so glad I was able to stick with my style when using My Memories Suite.
I shared this for Wordless Wednesday this past week. I loved being able to arrange the photos how I wanted to. I love the selection of paper for the background. I love being able mat my photos with different sizes and colors. You can add text anywhere on the page that you want to, changing the size, color and font.
I even played with the Word Art.
I did find one layout that I really enjoyed using.
And while I was having fun with the scrapbooking I was also keeping in mind that My Memories Suite is very versatile. I was told I could make cards or calendars or even videos. As a homeschooling parent, I wanted to see if I could create something to use with my girls in our lessons. This is what I came up with-
Apple counting cards to go with our How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World lessons.
What is even more amazing is all the different kits you can purchase over at mymemories.com. Different papers, different templates... and all at reasonable prices. They even have several pages of FREE kits. I have downloaded quite a few and can't wait to work with them.
You can head over right now and check out all their marvelous products. They have kindly allowed me to offer my readers $10 off the My Memories Suite Scrapbook Software AND a $10 off coupon for the Mymemories.com store.
