I wasn't sure what I was going to do for today's muffin tin. As we are still on the letter I, and there are not that many I foods, I was almost at a loss. I decided to give the girls some "Italian" food. Hubby and I went out last night for our anniversary and we brought some pizza home. As the morning progressed I decided on a few more items to make this truly an "Italian Muffin Tin":
I followed the design of the Italian flag. They had:
Green broccoli
White Mozzarella Cheese
Red grape tomatoes
Green Lettuce with Italian dressing
Cut up left over pizza (sort of white with the crust and cheese
Cheese Raviolis which have red sauce on them.
Before we ate I took time to explain the tin to the girls as I usually do. First I showed them an Italian flag that I found a picture of online. I explained that we hear the short i sound when we say "Italy." I also explained that my grandparents (on my father's side) came over from Italy.
Cool! Another success! I had bee a little worried about the Italian dressing. Tabitha ate all her salad and Amelia ate a little of it.
Head on over to Muffin Tin Mom to see other cool muffin tins.
Looks like lunch was a hit. What a great way to incorporate a bit of social studies and family history into your meal too!
ReplyDeleteLove it! That looks so yummy. I am gong to try and create something similar for my girl tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteStopping in from the Alexa hop.
Neat idea! I love your round tins - I imagine them being on little lazy susans so you can just turn the cup you want right in front of you and then turn it again to eat something else. LOL
ReplyDeleteVery cool. I've never heard of muffin tin meals, or seen those 'plates'.
