Skin Care With GREEMU Oil {A TOS Review}

My husband is a Licensed Practical Nurse who works in a long term care facility taking care of 40 residents for 12 hours at a time.  Needless to say, he washes his hands.  A lot.  He also uses hand sanitizer.  A lot.  He has often said that he doesn't like the feeling his hands have throughout the day because they were too dry.  He's also complained about his feet being dry because he walks on them excessively.

Enter GREEMU from Devonian.

GREEMU is distributed by a company that we have reviewed products for in the past. About a year ago my husband and I tried out Emu Oil and Koolpurrie Restoring Balm from Koru Naturals. As I have very sensitive skin which had an allergic reaction to these products, I hesitated in asking for this review. However, my husband was pleased with the Emu Oil and Restoring Balm and was eager to try this new, plant-based, vegan alternative to Emu Oil.

We received a 4 oz bottle of this "Green Alternative to Emu Oil." Scientists blended plant oils and butters in the attempt to achieve a suitable product that provided the same benefits as Emu oil, without having to use Emus to do so. Here is a list of the ingredients that make up GREEMU oil:

  • Macadamia Seed Oil
  • Palm Oil (Organic and Sustainable Certified)
  • Shea Butter
  • Sunflower Seed Oil
  • Rice Bran Oil

According to my husband, "GREEMU oil felt different going on than any other products I've tried. You knew it was going to last just by the feel of it." As mentioned above, most products have not worked for my husband. Though Emu Oil did help him, and this product is supposed to be similar to Emu Oil, he did find that it is slightly different.  They do state on their website that the GREEMU will absorb even slower than Emu oil, which is what he has experienced. It is imperative to use very little of the oil.

Though he wasn't a huge fan of how long it took to absorb, he was quite happy with the results.

This is what he had to say regarding his dry skin, "My hands don't feel as dry after helping my wife with the dishes or after coming out of the shower."

Another thing he noted, "I've been to a podiatrist before and literally had to have him cut off the callouses on my feet with a really sharp blade.  Since using the GREEMU oil, I notice a marked decrease in them without having to go to the doctor and get them removed."

Here, let's take a look at his results.

The redness and dryness on his fingers has decreased. Which is great, however, the camera didn't really do it justice.

You can see a marked improvement in his feet though (even with my not-so-great camera).

Personally, I do not have a huge aversion to using animal products, and neither does my husband. It is great to discover that scientists have been able to create an almost identical product to the authentic Emu oil. Hubby is happy with either product, though I think a bit more so with the Emu oil due to the fact that it absorbs faster. However, if you are trying to avoid animal products, the GREEMU is most definitely a wonderful alternative.

We were very thankful for the opportunity to review GREEMU Oil from Devonian, and we highly recommend it. You can purchase a 4 oz bottle for $10.80 from Koru Naturals. And they are currently offering 20% off with a coupon code through May 31st, 2016.
