Tiny Talk Tuesday: November 16, 2010

I am beginning to realize that there is so, so much that Tabitha has to say that if I wrote it all down I would be sharing a book.  The problem is, because she makes so many cute, insightful comments as we go about our day I don't know which ones to write down.  I can't head for my pen every time she speaks.  Then there are times I regret not writing it down.  And if I don't write it down soon enough (like right away) I forget what was said.  Here are a few of the cute things I did take the time to write down:

We were in Walmart last night and I had just picked up a night dress for myself.  Then we headed over to the baby section and she saw a cute pajama set on clearance.  She insisted she wanted it even though it was short sleeved and too small.  She said, "We can wait for it to get bigger, then it will fit me."

Today Tabitha was in time out and toward the end of her time she looked over to the microwave (where we set the timer which was almost ready to go off) and said, "Daddy, your favorite sound is the timer going off... My favorite sound is the woofing of a dog."

Yesterday was Muffin Tin Monday and the theme this week was The Food Pyramid/Nutrition.  As we always do we discussed the different foods and what food group they were in.  They were given a little bit of dressing  to dip their food in and we discussed only needing a little bit of fatty foods.  (We've also been working on the Wii Fit and she was just recently told she doesn't need to lose weight, she just needs to exercise to stay healthy.  The rest of us however need to lose weight.  My oldest daughter keeps insisting she is fat and we try to tell her she is not, but Tabitha hears that and thinks her sister is fat.) Anyway, with those thoughts in her mind this afternoon she said, "When we have a circle body...(makes circle with hands around midsection of body) That's called fat, when we have a circle body."

The other day Tabitha noticed that her daddy's pocket in his scrub shirt was ripped.  She said to me later, "I think daddy's work kids...people... I think daddy's work people ripped his pocket."
I replied, "Oh, It was an accident.  That happens.
(Daddy is an LPN and works in a Long Term Care facility)

This evening daddy was feeding Hannah her fruit and he offered some to Amelia.  She told him it was Hannah's or she wasn't Hannah (sometimes it is still hard to decipher what she is saying).  Then she said, "I'm not a baby.  I'm just a baby on the Wii Fit. (She is not old enough to have a Mii that can actually be weighed by herself or do the training so they picture her as a crawling, sitting baby.)

I wish I could remember if Tabitha or Amelia said this next one (I am not used to Amelia talking so much so I forget to write who said things) and I can't remember the details, but I still thought it was cute to share.
"I can help you find it, then you'll know where it is."

Head on over to Not Before 7 to see what other children have to say.

And stay tuned.  Tomorrow there will be a new Words of Wisdom Wednesday question.  To see what it is all about just click on the Words of Wisdom Wednesday button in the sidebar.

  1. Kewkew - you can try it out to see if there's interest. As far as age, go here: http://www.daddyread.com/readingChapter.html

He talks about the differences between reading age and listening age.

  2. That is just like me about trying to capture Tiny Talk sayings. I could constantly be writing because so much of what J says is so cute. I also don't want to interrupt the moment by having to go get my pen and paper and start writing, but then like you I have a hard time remembering how it went!! These were cute ones, especially thinking if you waited the pajamas would get bigger!

  3. Cute! I especially liked "We can wait for it to get bigger, then it will fit me."
