Toddler Ideas Tuesday: December 2, 2014

Welcome back to Toddler Idea Tuesdays! I hope you will join with me again in sharing the fun activities, crafts, and lessons that you are doing with your young children.

Today I wanted to share several fun toddler Christmas craft ideas from the past.

We made these fun mitten decorations several years ago. I traced the girls' hands in the shape of a mitten and then cut out two. They then decorated them and I attached them with a piece of yarn.

Another year, the girls made handprint wreaths. I traced a circle onto a big piece of white construction paper. Then the girls made handprints with green paint all around the circle. When it was dry, I cut it out and the girls glued on pompoms.

And the last craft I wanted to share today is a manger. I cut the manger out of brown paper in the shape of a trapezoid with rhombus legs. I cut a baby shape out of felt. The girls used some white cloth to swaddle the baby in and then I actually stapled it to secure it as glue wasn't holding it. If I was doing this again, I would probably try Velcro. The girls then glued on some yellow yarn for hay and attached the swaddled baby to the manger.
