Kids and a Mom in the Kitchen #89:Chocolate Peanut Butter Pudding Pie

Time for Kids and a Mom in the Kitchen
(A weekly linky to share what you and your children have created in the kitchen.)

The linky is at the bottom.

We have been reviewing Lightning Literature Grade 1 from Hewitt Homeschooling with the Schoolhouse Review Crew. The first book we looked at was Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crocket Johnson. At one point in the story Harold draws himself a picnic lunch of 9 pies.  So, I decided we would make my favorite pie for Kids and a Mom in the Kitchen.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pudding Pie

Ingredients:

2 packages instant chocolate pudding
2 3/4 cups milk
1/4-1/2 cup peanut butter (as peanut buttery as you like it)
1 graham cracker pie crust
6 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

We made the pudding using the directions on the box for pie, first adding the pudding mix, then the milk.

Then we added the milk.

We use our electric beaters on low to mix it for 2 minutes.

Then I add in heaping spoonfuls of peanut butter.

Then for the yummies. We chop up 6 Reese's peanut butter cups.

And add them into the pudding.

Pour it into the pie crust and then put it in the fridge for a few hours.

My pudding pie has more of a consistency of pudding than pie and needs to be scooped out, but I love it this way.

Do you have your children help you in the kitchen?  What lessons do they learn? Do you have any kid friendly recipes to share?

I'd love to see your posts, whether you have done something this week or some time in the past. Just link up below. This is a weekly linky.

  1. I just found your linky for the first time. I'm glad I finally found you! I love working with my kids, whether it's in the kitchen or the garden or anywhere else for that matter :) I've started a series this summer on gardening with my kids and what we do with our garden produce when we get it in the kitchen. I will definitely have to link up! I am also going to have to try your peanut butter pudding pie! It sounds delicious!!
