Time for Kids and a Mom in the Kitchen
(A weekly linky to share what you and your children have created in the kitchen.)

The linky is at the bottom.

This week I am sharing a recipe that hubby found while hanging out on Facebook. As usual I searched for the original post (I can't stand it when people share pictures and recipes on Facebook and don't share where they got it from). This yummy recipe was shared over at i heart nap time over a year ago. She called the Reeses Peanut Butter No-Bake Bars. I decided to take out the Reeses name as there are no actual Reeses products in here.

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, melted
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup peanut butter
1 bag chocolate chips, melted

First, I melted the butter in the microwave. Here they are checking it out to see if it is done yet.

Then they added the graham cracker crumbs.

Stir, stir, stir.

Then we added the sugars, vanilla, and peanut butter.

We mixed it with our electric mixer until it was smooth(ish).

I pressed it into a 9x13 baking pan.

Then I melted the chocolate chips in the microwave on medium (50%) power for 2 1/2 minutes. I stirred them after 2 minutes but they still weren't done.

Next, the chocolate was spread on the top and it was refrigerated for an hour.

Directions:

1- Melt the butter.
2- Mix all the ingredients, except the chocolate chips, until smooth.
3- Spread  mixture into 9x13 baking pan
4- Melt chocolate chips in microwave on 50% power until smooth, about 1-2 1/2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute and again at 2 minutes.
5- Spread chocolate on top of peanut butter mixture and refrigerate for 1 hour.
6- Cut into bars and enjoy with a glass of milk (because they are yummy, but quite sweet).

Do you have your children help you in the kitchen?  What lessons do they learn? Do you have any kid friendly recipes to share?

I'd love to see your posts, whether you have done something this week or some time in the past. Just link up below. This is a weekly linky.
