Time for Kids and a Mom in the Kitchen

The linky is at the bottom.

I decided to have the children help with Breakfast for Dinner Thursday again this week. It had been a while since we had quiche, though at one time, the hubby was asking for it all the time. I originally found this recipe over on allrecipes.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
4 tsp flour
1/2 cup cooked ham, diced
3 eggs
1 cup milk
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground dry mustard
1 (9 in) unbaked pie crust

While Amelia shredded the cheese...

Tabitha cracked the eggs and combined them with the milk.

Then she cut the ham while I added the salt and ground dry mustard to the eggs and milk.

Once the cheese was shredded we added 4 tsp of flour.

Amelia wanted to help with the ham.

I rolled the pie crust out and placed it in the pie plate. Then we added the cheese.

The ham is added on top of the cheese.

Then we poured the egg/milk mixture on top.

We baked it on 400 degrees for 1 hour.

Directions:
1- In a medium bowl shred cheese and toss with 4 tsp of flour.
2- Sprinkle cheese on pie crust.
3- Sprinkle ham on top of cheese (sometimes I use veggies instead of ham).
4- In a medium bowl combine eggs and milk, then add salt and ground dry mustard.
5- Beat until smooth and pour on top of ham.
6- Bake in 400 degree oven for 1 hour. Cover crust with foil to prevent over-browning.

Do you have your children help you in the kitchen?  What lessons do they learn? Do you have any kid friendly recipes to share?

I'd love to see your posts, whether you have done something this week or some time in the past. Just link up below. This is a weekly linky.
