Delicious Dish Tuesday: Ravioli Bake

Full Time Mama

I usually like to have a recipe to go by when I am cooking. Recently I have gotten more daring when it comes to changing things up a bit. But this week I actually created my very own recipe. I enjoyed it very much, everyone else was a bit iffy.

Here is my Ravioli Chicken Bake recipe:

1 Bag of frozen cheese raviolis
1 1/2 cups chopped cooked chicken
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
6 mushrooms sliced
1/3 cup + 1 cup spaghetti sauce divided (plus extra for layering)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or to your taste).

First saute the green pepper in 1/3 cup of sauce til tender.

Then add the mushroom and cook up a few more minutes.

Add the chicken and 1 cup of sauce. Cook until heated through and chicken begins to shred.

Set the chicken/veggie mixture aside.

Place enough sauce in bottom of 9x13 pan to coat the bottom.

Add a single layer of frozen ravioli.

Cover with Chicken Veggie Sauce

Add remaining raviolis.

Add a layer of plain sauce just to cover. I don't like a lot of sauce, so you may want to use more.

And finish off with a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese.

Bake in 350 oven for 50 minutes.

  10. I didn't know that chicken will shred like that in a pan, I thought it only happened in a slow cooker. This looks so yummy, perfect for a cold day!
