2010 Year In Review

2010
A Year in Review

Wow! I knew there had been lots accomplished this year and lots of growth and change, but looking back over my posts I was struck with the awesomeness of it all.  While I started my blog back in August of 2009, I didn't start posting regularly until January.  Fortunately, in January I was still feeling pretty good and we were really accomplishing things.  Here are several special memories from each month (boy was it hard to narrow it down).
January
Amelia stringing the noodles we dyed (I can't believe it's been a year since we did that)

First introduction to Montessori

An attempt at making homemade potpourri

Our Pizza Picnic Party

February
Making playdough

More Montessori (one to one corresponding, it was tonging for Tabitha though) and using the Build a Letter Alphabet

'
Working with our movable alphabet

Tabitha's new computer

The Queens of Hearts (and they made tarts)

March
We made Recycled Robots

One to one counting on numerals

Visit to the deer park to get postcards for the postcard exchange

A rainbow/Noah's Ark cake

April
Working on telling time

Amelia has always liked working with the shaker jar activities, whether there are pipe cleaners or toothpicks available.

Working with our felts.  She was pairing them up.

And of course, April brought us our precious Hannah.

She got to go home on my birthday (silly C-Section)

Arrival home

With Tabitha

And Amelia (and Krystal)

May
Kite flying at the park with daddy

Our upside down cake

Vegetable eating chart

Attempting to grow vegetables.

June
Playing our Octopus Domino game

Tabitha starting to write, all on her own.  Can you see "cat" and "hat" in there?

Reading 3 and 4 letter phonetic words I typed.

Playing the Winnie the Pooh/watermelon seed game I created

July
Amelia's letter/sound cards (she would get a sticker on each card if she knew the letter or sound)

Tabitha with her word cards (she has at and ad word family cards)

Finishing up the alphabet, finally

Matching magnetic letters (I also had her match upper to lower case, Amelia wasn't quite ready for this)

Making our yummy frozen yogurt pops

Writing her name herself

'
Movable alphabet with 3 letter word cards

Over the summer we worked on numbers and

colors.

August
The beginning of our Alphabet Scavenger Hunt

The beginning of our tadpole observation

Play time with daddy

Our dandelion hunt

She refused to have her picture taken nicely.

And of course, Hannah's first football game.

September
Learning to wash dishes

Our new school area ready to go

Our new poster, with its debut letter

Start of our caterpillar observation

First introduction to the sand paper letters

Told you she still likes this activity

Our second Pizza Party

October
This is how Hannah was "participating" (translation: letting mommy work with older sisters)

Working on making "Zoe's Purple Pants"

Hannah just starting to sit up

She loves this activity that we started originally with the letter p after seeing it over at My Tot Learning Time

They just loved putting on their If You Give a Mouse a Cookie puppet show

Simple sorting and graphing activity

Hannah's first scribble. Unfortunately I can't get her to do any more as she is more interested in eating the crayons.

November
Leaf Men!

Our season tree

The girls love to paint and I love doing projects with paper towel rolls because they are so easy for the girls to hold while they paint.  These became T's

One of our many Muffin Tin Mondays.  I love that they just started signing spontaneously.

Some daddy lesson time.  Tabitha is working on her reading lessons.

Hannah sitting with out needing support.  I love having her right there with the girls like she is joining in.

Tabitha teaching Hannah to sign butterfly. I love that it looks like Hannah is trying.

Tabitha teaching Amelia

Amelia and Hannah

 December
Lovely snow storm to christen our weather duck.

This is how I kept Hannah safe. Surrounded by soft toys.

I love having Hannah do crafts too.

The girls really enjoyed Story Time and are not quite understanding why we haven't gone this week.  I told them it will start back up in February.

Daddy brought the walker up out of the basement to I can contain Hannah a bit if I need to.  Oh, and help to strengthen her legs.

Working on our review books.

The girls have to wait upstairs on Christmas morning so mommy can record first reactions. Aren't I mean.

Hannah's first Christmas stocking.

Whew! I made it through the year.  If you made it to the end of this post, thank you.  I didn't mean for it to be so long, but there were so many special memories.

I decided that it would be fun to have a linky so you could share your 2010 memories.  So if you would like to participate just link up a blog post and please link back to this post so others can enjoy our reminiscing.  The linky will be open for a week!

May the Lord bless you in the New Year
