Scavenger Hunt Sunday: October 17th 2010

This fun scavenger hunt is hosted by Ashley over at Ramblings and Photos.  Here are this week's finds/interpretations.

Side Lighting

I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do for this one.  When I looked over at the children watching their show before naptime today I realized the light coming in was perfect.

Jack O'Lantern

I wasn't sure how I was going to deal with this one as we do not celebrate Halloween and I wasn't sure if I wanted a picture of a jack o'lantern on my blog.  I know some people just paint faces, so when I saw this scarecrow with a  painted pumpkin face I thought it wouldn't be cheating too badly.

Faces Found In Nature

As I was taking my walks I was looking all around trying to see if my imagination was working and if I could find something, anything that resembled a face.  I had almost given up, when I looked UP.  So with a little tilting of the camera I think I found a cute face.

Sunset

I have seen some amazing sunsets before, but have never had my camera.  Yesterday I had a chance to try to get a shot and the sunset was far from spectacular.  I am so glad the view screen on my camera doesn't do a great job playing back the pictures.  I thought I hadn't gotten the pink tinge, but when I got it on the computer I saw I had.

I waited a little longer, and when the sun was almost down I decided to play with some of the scene settings on my camera.  Wish I can remember which one this finally was.  I tried foliage, night, beach, underwater etc, just to see what would happen.  This was either night or underwater I think.

Warm

Hannah and I had to keep warm to take our walk.
While the sun was shining the wind was quite chilly.

  4. Great shots this week and I like how you handled jack o'lantern. We don't carve pumpkins or really celebrate much around here either. I don't even paint my pumpkins (I put a big letter S on it - stick on), so I understand. But you worked it out. I hope you have a great week and I will look forward to seeing your interpretations next week.
