Time for Icy Pops

With the weather so hot, we need to find some way to cool off.  One treat the children enjoy is Freezer Pops (the sugary dyed water that comes in a tube and needs to be frozen).  The only problem is, it is hard for the mommy to enjoy her Freezer Pop when she is continually having to help the children push their pops up to the opening because it is "cold mommy" and they keep letting it fall back down.  Besides, when it is first cut open it is frozen solid and very hard to push up.
So, this mommy decided to find a solution to the problem.  This is the way we eat Freezer Pops so mommy doesn't have to sit there holding them.

Tabitha has finally learned how to push it up on her own, so I didn't have to do this for her.  However, for Amelia I let her eat as much as she can reach and then I cut the plastic down to the level of the pop.  I do encourage her to try to reach just a little bit more each time so I don't have to cut as often.  But it has helped as I don't have to stand there holding it for her. Just cut and let eat, cut and let eat, repeat as necessary.

Hope this tip will help someone else.

  1. Following you from blog hop Friday. This post made me giggle. These pops had been the death of me for the same reason. I finally gave up and bought the kind with a stick and sent them out back to eat them!
