Wordless Wednesday: June 6, 2018 (w/linky) : Field Trip to Pocono Raceway

We had a lovely day on Friday. Headed down to the Pocono Raceway for the ARCA race, just like we did last year. We also got to watch some of the practice and the qualifying for Sunday's NASCAR race. The children also enjoyed the bouncy house and other kid attractions. Thankfully it wasn't too hot, and it didn't rain as was predicted.

"Gentlemen, start your engines!"

The above pictures are looking at the other side of the track, zooming in quite a bit.

I loved that I could get a clear picture of the scoreboard on the other side of the track. I did my best to get a picture of the lead car. Was a bit tricky when I couldn't see the numbers on the cars from so far away. But I succeeded.

More than once.

There were several accidents and yellow caution flags, but this one was a doozy. We were quite confused as to why they didn't pull out the red flag instead of going around under caution for so many laps.

One more lead change, this guy stayed in front to win.

Time to go home. What a beautiful ending to a wonderful day.

Looking forward to seeing your Wordless (or not so wordless) Wednesday posts this week.

No button currently, and there won't be one until I can figure it out seeing as Photobucket has changed things. Feel free to still share the picture in place of the button on your Wordless Wednesday post or in a list of Wordless Wednesday linkies. Just link it to my Wordless Wednesday permalink please.

  1. DH enjoys watch NASCAR on TV. I will sit in the living room while a race is on but I have a hard time getting into it. I get to distracted so I usually doodle on my iPad. At least we're spending time together. Just goes to show you don't have to be doing the same thing to enjoy being in another's company. Thanks for stopping by and linking up today!

  2. I remember going to a car race when I was a kid. I think cars crashed and everything. Looks like a fun day out!
