We used half a recipe, but here is the whole recipe.
Filling:
10 Cups sliced apples
1 cup sugar
1 Tbs flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup water
Topping:
1 cup oats
1 cup flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup butter, melted
I already had the apples sliced and in a bowl because I couldn't get over to the store right away to get the brown sugar (that I thought I already had). I started cutting the apples and then it started POURING rain, so we had to wait a few hours to make it.
Mixing the apple slices with the sugar, flour and cinnamon for the "filling."
The water is actually supposed to be pour over the top after it is in the pan, but I forgot. Oops. You know what though. It tastes fine if you pour the water in with the sugar, flour and cinnamon.
Place it in a pan.
Melt the butter. (But make sure it is in a decent bowl or the bowl might melt and butter will go everywhere causing you to have to melt another 1/2 cup of butter...just saying)
Mix the melted butter with the remainder of the topping ingredients.
Sprinkle over the top of the apple filling.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.
Yum yum. I believe I found this recipe at allrecipes.com a while ago. Perfect easy recipe for when we do an apple unit. Much easier than playing with pie crust.
