Math in our Home Preschool

I am thrilled to be a part of the Guest Bloggers' Team for the H.O.P.E. Home School Consulting Blog! I have been home preschooling our girls for the last 3 years or so. I had all these ideas brewing in my head  from working in daycare and at a Montessori Children's House for 6-7 years, and I knew I wanted to work with the girls. It started out with a craft or an activity now and then, and exploded into actual lesson time and workbook time. But our relaxed way of homeschooling is more than just those times of sitting down and having morning "circle" time and working on the workbooks. Learning is a part of everyday life. And this is especially true of Math.

Last week I shared a little bit about:
Some ways to add math to everyday life
Some ways to add math to crafts

Please click here to read the full article.
And while you are there check out the other great posts on math by experienced homeschool mom's. There is an article about
5 Ways to Help Your Struggling Math Student Not Hate Math
and one about
Making Math Fun

Check back a little later today for a post on scheduling

  1. It's so important to teach kids the basics in math young so they don't struggle as they get older. Thanks for this resource!! I am going to pass it on to my sister in law.
