Baby Shower Celebration: Sponsor Spotlight: Swaddle Designs

SwaddleDesigns

I have mentioned before how I struggle with swaddling. I have reviewed another product that has helped me in this regard. But I was intrigued by these awesome blankets by Swaddle Designs. One thing I have always noticed about "receiving blankets" that you buy in the store is that they are way smaller than the blankets that the hospitals use to swaddle newborns in.  I finally realized that these smaller blankets are the reason I can not swaddle. Enter Swaddle Designs

Here is a little bit of information about Swaddle Designs from their website.
"SwaddleDesigns was founded by Lynette Damir, a registered nurse and mother of two young children. While visiting families with new babies, Lynette found that parents struggled with swaddling because they didn’t have the right kind of blanket (the blankets were too small or too thick) and the new parents could not remember how to make a good secure swaddle. Lynette understood that parents needed a large, square cotton blanket and they needed help when trying to learn how to swaddle. Lynette designed the The Ultimate Receiving Blanket with 123 Swaddle® instructional tag sewn to its edge, so new moms and new dads would have the pictorial instructions at their fingertips when they swaddled their baby. Lynette’s blanket has helped hundreds of thousands of new parents learn how to swaddle."

These blankets are much larger than the receiving blankets you would buy in the store. The original Ultimate Receiving Blankets are a roomy 42 x 42 inches. They are made from "super soft, premium, preshrunk cotton flannel" (which is the #1 choice in material in US hospitals).

SwaddleDesigns
blankets come in a variety of weights and are perfect for many uses such as
a privacy throw for breastfeeding moms, a tummy time play mat, a cover over
the stroller as well as swaddling.

The Ultimate Receiving BlanketR is a lightweight premium cotton flannel

blanket - for moderate to cooler environmental temperatures.

  47. Yes I quickly noticed about the size difference after my 1st was born. What's the point of those smaller blankets? Guess you can use the as burp cloths.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I think I'd try one of the zip me sacks.

    ReplyDelete
  49. How I wish this had been available when my son was a baby. I swaddled the old fashion way 21 years ago. It was the only way i could soothe my colicky baby. This blanket would have saved me tons of time.

  50. I love the larger lighter material of the Swaddling blankets by Swaddle designs. It is sooo hard in Texas to find the appropriate weight blanket for both swaddling a little one and then transitioning to a sleep sac. You have really taken the guess work out of what weight to use in what room environment.
